McLaren, which unveiled the'12C'and its successor,'12C Spider', and in 2014,'650S''650S Spider', and the limited edition model announced in 2015,'675LT''675LT Spider' as the first generation of the Super Series, with the new model announced this time being the second generation.

The engine is a newly developed 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo. While the output and torque of this engine, codenamed M840T, have not yet been announced, it is described as having increased both power and torque, achieving 0-200km/h in 7.8 seconds.

Brakes have also been enhanced, with lightweight yet robust calipers and carbon-ceramic discs as standard. The tires are Pirelli P Zero Corsa, developed in collaboration with Pirelli.

The system controlling the machine has evolved into Proactive Chassis Control (PCC) II, with 12 more sensors than the previous generation. Each wheel hub is equipped with an accelerometer that measures the tire's contact patch by reading inputs from the road. McLaren explains that by analyzing this data in milliseconds, the suspension damping force is constantly optimized, improving tire grip and achieving a balance between handling precision and ride comfort.

On the other hand, consideration has also been given to driftability for drivers who enjoy dynamic driving. With the new McLaren Variable Drift Control, the level of Stability Control (ESC) can be easily adjusted simply by swiping on the infotainment screen.

The body structure uses the newly developed 'Carbon Monocage II', which is lighter and more rigid than the first generation's structure that used metal in the cockpit around a carbon fiber core. This achieves a vehicle weight of 1,283 kg, 18 kg lighter than the 650S. The wider opening and lower sills also improve ease of entry and exit, while lowering the center of gravity.

Although its form has not yet been revealed, the aerodynamics have also evolved with a new exterior design, resulting in a 50 percent increase in maximum downforce compared to the 650S, contributing to stability and grip.

The distinctive dihedral doors feature two independent air ducts. One takes in air from above the door for radiator cooling, while the other draws air from the outside of the front wheels to increase downforce.

The interior is finished in a sporty combination of aluminum and leather. Additionally, customers can opt for the 'Visible Monocage' option when ordering the vehicle, leaving the carbon structure of the A-pillars exposed.

The instrument panel is a full TFT LCD that rises when the engine is started. The display content changes according to the driving mode, such as Comfort, Sport, and Track. This display can also be used in a flat position, in which case a minimal amount of information is shown on a narrow, horizontal surface (which would be the top when upright).

Separately, an 8-inch touchscreen in the center provides navigation and media playback.

The full details of McLaren's new-generation Super Series will be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show.
