Singapore, with a land area comparable to Tokyo, has the second-highest population density in the world, second only to the Principality of Monaco. Furthermore, a large portion of its population is concentrated in urban areas. Consequently, there is an overwhelming shortage of parking spaces for residents, and the reality is that one cannot even own a car without being able to find parking.

In Singapore, a tower condominium called 'Hamilton Scotts Sky Garage Apartment' in the central Orchard Road area is attracting attention. It is a so-called 'luxury condominium,' and the reason for its popularity is that, despite being a high-rise building, parking spaces are installed within the residences themselves.

The idea of parking one's cherished car in the living room already exists, and in rural areas where acquiring ample land is easier, one might occasionally see such arrangements, though they are still uncommon. However, what is truly astonishing about the 'Sky Garage Apartment' is that this has been implemented in a prime location just 1 km from Singapore's city center, and moreover, on the upper floors of a condominium.

A glass-enclosed space is integrated into a corner of the living room, serving as the 'My Garage.' Once you park your car on a ground-floor pallet, a high-tech elevator automatically transports it to your unit.

KOP Properties, the developer of this 'Sky Garage,' stated that it was 'developed to resolve Singapore's parking shortage due to its limited land area.'

The issue, however, lies in the price of these garages. For the 'Sky Garage Apartment,' a unit with a garage capable of accommodating two cars is priced at an extraordinary 7.5 million Singapore dollars (approximately 470 million yen), yet this is not the most expensive unit. A penthouse equipped with a four-car garage is astonishingly priced at 24 million dollars (approximately 1.5 billion yen).

Viewed as 'condominiums with parking,' these are ultra-luxury properties. However, if one could afford to acquire such a residence, it would undoubtedly offer a dream-like automotive lifestyle for enthusiasts, perhaps enjoying the Singapore city skyline at night through the windows of their beloved car.
