1,000kg, 1,000 Horsepower
"AM-RB001" is still a codename, and the official name has not yet been announced. The model unveiled in Japan was a mockup, and details of its specifications were not disclosed.
However, it was revealed during the presentation that the engine is a naturally aspirated V12 mounted mid-ship, producing 1,000 horsepower. The car weighs 1,000kg, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 1.0.
Furthermore, its body features a lightweight carbon fiber construction and generates an unprecedented level of downforce for a road-legal car. This design is by Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull Racing and an F1 car designer, with the downforce produced by underfloor aerodynamics.
Based on this, Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, fused cutting-edge dynamics with Aston Martin's unique essence to design its dynamic form.
He commented, "All the air is used to cool the engine and brakes, and to generate downforce. And every surface and line is designed with the image of air flowing backward." He added, "Many F1 technologies are incorporated into the engine and chassis."

Practicality Uncompromised
Reichman states that interior comfort has not been sacrificed. "You may not believe it, but I can fit comfortably inside (he is approximately 190cm tall). This is because when designing this car, my aim was for me to be able to drive it not only on the circuit but also on public roads."
The goal for the AM-RB 001 was to be "dynamic yet genuinely usable. It can be driven with great enjoyment even at low speeds."
Another detail revealed was the production volume: 150 units in total, including the road-going version and circuit-focused variants based on the latest LMP1 Le Mans prototype specifications. Approximately 600 offers were received, and priority will be given to royal collectors who own vehicles such asLagonda Taraf,One-77,VulcanThe price is said to be around 300 million yen.
Production will take place at Aston Martin's Gaydon factory, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2019.
