A Sporty SUV for Five Adults
Jaguar's First SUV, the F-PACEmade its Japan premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show held from late October last year, with orders for the "FIRST EDITION," a limited-edition model limited to 2,000 units worldwide, beginning in November. This is a luxurious specification based on the top-grade "S" model with added special equipment, with 50 units allocated to Japan. In addition to this, orders for catalog models also began yesterday, and the grade structure and specifications for the Japanese market have been announced.
Developed as one of Jaguar's next-generation models, the F-PACE features a lightweight monocoque body structure that uses aluminum for 80 percent of its construction. This is the same new platform used in the new sedans introduced last year, theXEandXF, but 81 percent of its components have been replaced for the F-PACE, giving it a unique character while sharing the agility and sporty driving dynamics.
The design incorporates elements from the sports model "F-TYPE", resulting in a sporty and powerful exterior characteristic of the new generation of Jaguars, with a commanding front fascia featuring a large grille and sharp headlights that convey a sense of family resemblance to other models.
While the body, measuring 4,740mm long, 1,935mm wide, and 1,665mm high, is substantial, it is notably 115mm shorter, 5mm narrower, and 45mm lower than the Porsche Cayenne. Within this, it offers a cabin comfortable for five adults, along with a 508-liter luggage compartment.
As a new technology, the latest infotainment system "In Control Touch Pro," introduced in the XF, is standard on all models. It features an intuitive 10.2-inch capacitive touchscreen monitor and an SSD navigation system specifically tuned for Japan.
Furthermore, a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster is used for the meter panel, enabling full-screen navigation map display. Additionally, new items unique to an SUV include the segment-first wristband-style activity key and Jaguar's first power-retractable side steps as optional features.

Comprehensive Driver Support and Six Engine Specifications
Naturally, it is equipped with advanced driving technologies and safety features, including "Torque Vectoring by Braking" to suppress understeer during cornering, "All Surface Progress Control" that allows the vehicle to maintain a set speed on slippery surfaces, and Jaguar's first "Autonomous Emergency Braking" with pedestrian detection. These features support the driver in various conditions.
The grade structure consists of three types equipped with the latest "INGENIUM" clean diesel engine and three types of gasoline engines, including a limited edition, for a total of six types. The clean diesel models use a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a common specification, producing a maximum output of 180 ps and a maximum torque of 430 Nm. The lineup includes the entry-grade "PURE," the higher-grade "PRESTIGE," and the sport-grade "R-SPORT."
Meanwhile, the gasoline models are powered by a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine. The sporty "R-SPORT" delivers a maximum output of 340 ps and a maximum torque of 450 Nm, while the top-grade "S" and the limited "FIRST EDITION" boast a more powerful 380 ps maximum output and 450 Nm maximum torque. All models come standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD system.
Consequently, the clean diesel models primarily serve as standard and entry-level options, while the gasoline variants are positioned exclusively for sporty driving. However, the clean diesel models, with their torque and lighter weight, are expected to offer more than sufficient driving pleasure.
