Cool i3 Expressed with 20-Inch Wheels and LED Headlights

The BMW "i3," an electric vehicle from BMW, marks two full years since its launch in Japan. It has garnered attention for innovations such as being the first mass-produced car to use CFRP (carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic) for its basic body structure, and for its online sales viaAmazon.

This year, in celebration of BMW's 100th anniversary, the "Celebration Edition Carbonight" has been introduced as the first model in a series of special editions for the i3.

The base model is the "i3 Range Extender," equipped with an 18.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, an electric motor producing 170 ps and 25.5 kgm of torque, and a compact 647cc twin-cylinder engine for power generation.

For the exterior, while the i3 has traditionally featured a two-tone color scheme, this special edition adopts "Fluid Black" for the first time, offering a sleek, all-black body. It also comes with enhanced features such as LED headlights and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Priced at 5.98 million yen, approximately 500,000 yen more than the standard model, only 40 units will be available.
