Toyota & BMW Explore Further Cooperation
Toyota Motor Corporation and BMW Group, who began joint research on next-generation lithium-ion batteries last December, announced they will explore further cooperation.

Sports Car Development Also Under Consideration
Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda and BMW AG Board Chairman Norbert Reithofer held a joint press conference in Munich, which was broadcast live.
Previously,Joint development of next-generation lithium-ion batteries, provision of BMW-made 4-cylinder diesel engines to Toyota Europethe two companies had been cooperating, and at this press conference, they stated their desire to build a further cooperative relationship, sharing the belief that while operating under different cultures, they both aim to make personal mobility emotional and sustainable.
Specifically, the two companies will explore cooperation in hybrid technology, fuel cell development, electric vehicle development, lightweight technology, and sports car development. Will sports cars from Toyota and BMW emerge? This announcement promises exciting future developments.
