Automatic Braking and Lane Departure Warning Now Standard
Nissan unveiled the minor-change version of the "Leaf" that had been exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show.
This update includes the addition of a model equipped with a 30kWh drive battery, an upgrade from the previous 24kWh. By using new materials, Nissan has maintained the same battery pack size while increasing the cruising range per charge by approximately 20% to 280km. Fast charging to 80% is also said to take about 30 minutes, similar to the 24kWh battery.
Safety features now include "Emergency Brake (automatic braking)" and "LDW (Lane Departure Warning)" as standard equipment on all models. Additionally, the navigation system has been enhanced with features such as automatic updates for nearby charging spots while driving.
Meanwhile, the "Aerostyle" model, featuring a sporty exterior, has received dedicated tuning for its VCM (Vehicle Control Module) to enhance throttle response and acceleration performance.
Tangerine Orange and Sonic Blue have been added to the body color options. For these two colors, a two-tone option is also available, with the roof and door mirrors in black, offering a sportier choice.
Prices remain the same: ¥2,803,680 to ¥3,894,480 for the 24kWh model, and ¥3,197,880 to ¥4,288,680 for the 30kWh model. All models continue to be eligible for national purchase subsidies, bringing the effective starting prices to approximately ¥2.46 million for the 24kWh model and ¥2.61 million for the 30kWh model.
