V8 Vantage Inherits Technology from the 'S' Model

Many of the enhancements introduced to the V8 Vantage have been carried over from its higher-spec sibling, the V8 Vantage S. This update sees the optional Automated Manual Transmission evolve from a 6-speed Sportshift to a 7-speed Sportshift II, featuring closer gear ratios and a lower final drive. The steering ratio has also been quickened from 17:1 to 15:1 (2.62 lock-to-lock), and the front brakes now employ 380mm two-piece cast iron ventilated discs with opposed 6-piston calipers. Tire sizes are 245/40ZR19 for the front and 285/35ZR19 for the rear.

In terms of styling, the new V8 Vantage adopts the front bumper with its larger air intakes, a feature inherited from the Vantage S, along with a newly designed rear diffuser and sculpted side sills. These changes are not merely aesthetic; they also serve to enhance cooling and aerodynamic efficiency. Notably, the carbon fiber aerodynamics package, standard on the Vantage S, is available as an option. The new V8 Vantage is priced from ¥14,773,500 (for the 6-speed manual transmission model).


V8 Vantage Sremains unchanged in specification, but its price has been reduced by ¥100,000, now starting at ¥17,430,000.

Furthermore, the V12 Vantage will continue to be offered, andthe V12 Zagatowhich crowns the Vantage series, will commence production in the latter half of 2012, it was also announced.
