The Second-Generation Continental GTC Makes Its Japan Premiere!
The second generation of the Continental GTC, which had its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, has already made its debut in Japan.

Priced at ¥26.4 Million, ¥2.25 Million More Than the Coupe
While retaining the imposing presence of the coupe unveiled last year, the second-generation Continental GTC impresses with sharper body lines than its predecessor.Second-generation Continental GTCThis dynamic and flowing styling, a reinterpretation of the tradition inherited from the R-Type Continental of the 1950s, is achieved through a technique called superforming, where aluminum is heated to nearly 500 degrees Celsius and then molded.
Wheels are standard 20-inch, with optional 21-inch sizes available.
The interior, adorned with a choice of seven wood veneers, leather hides in 17 colors, and deep-pile carpets, is all handcrafted by artisans. To allow for open-top driving regardless of temperature, an optional neck warmer is available for the seats. The multi-layer fabric roof with excellent sound insulation, soundproof glass, and sound-absorbing panels beneath the body ensure enhanced comfort.
Continental GTC
The powertrain features a 6-liter W12 twin-turbocharged engine. Maximum output is 575 ps (423 kW), a 15 ps increase from the Continental GT and its predecessor, with a maximum torque of 700 Nm, up by 50 Nm.
The price in Japan is ¥26.4 million, ¥2.25 million higher than the GT, and reservations are already being accepted. Deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2012 (July-September).
The Highly Anticipated V8 Model Also Unveiled!
Furthermore, at this Continental GTC Japan Premiere, a surprise unveiling of the Continental V8 range was presented ahead of its debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 9th.Continental V8 rangewas also part of the event.
Continental V8 range
As the name suggests, this is a new addition to the Continental series, with its most distinctive feature being the adoption of a 4.0-liter V8 engine for environmental consideration. This engine offers a 40 percent improvement in both fuel economy and CO2 emissions compared to the conventional W12 engine, boasting a range of over 800 km on a full tank of fuel. On the other hand, it delivers ample performance with a maximum output of 507 ps (373 kW) at 1,700-5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 660 Nm.
With much of the information about the Continental V8 range still undisclosed, we eagerly await its unveiling on January 9th.
