BMW has updated its 1 Series Coupe and Convertible models with a minor facelift and began sales nationwide through authorized BMW dealers on the 20th.

Reduced Air Resistance with New Air Curtain Technology
The 1 Series can rightly be called the leader in the premium compact segment in Japan. This time, both the Coupe and Convertible have undergone a renewal, featuring a more refined design and enhanced equipment.
The front design, which significantly influences the car's impression, now features accent lines using LEDs above the bi-xenon headlights, giving it a sharper expression. The rear has a redesigned combination light.
Furthermore, the front apron of the "120i Coupe" and "120i Convertible" incorporates BMW's first "Air Curtain." This technology draws air through the air intakes on both ends of the front apron and releases it at high speed into the front wheel arches, suppressing turbulence around the wheels and reducing air resistance. The use of the "Air Curtain" aims to improve driving stability and fuel efficiency.
Along with the design changes, the equipment has also been enhanced. All models come standard with headlight washers. The "135i Coupe" is equipped with a USB audio interface to further enhance the enjoyment of music inside the car, allowing connection with portable audio players. The 120i Coupe and 120i Convertible come standard with paddle shifters for sporty gear changes, and an ETC onboard unit is also included.
While there are no changes to the powertrain, the 120i features a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder DOHC engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission in a Coupe body measuring 4,370mm in length, 1,750mm in width, and 1,380mm in height. The 135i is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder DOHC engine with TwinPower Turbo technology, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
The 1 Series Coupe and Convertible are packed with driving pleasure. With a tighter, cooler design, they have evolved to be even sportier.
