1,575kg! 515kW! 690Nm!

The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, information about which has been gradually revealed through teasers—covering everything from the engine and transmission to the suspension, monocoque, and most recently, chassis images—has finally shed its veil.

As previously reported, the engine is a newly developed 6.5-liter 60-degree V12 DOHC, designed entirely from scratch. With a bore and stroke of 95 x 76.4mm, it's a remarkably short-stroke and very compact design. Its height, including the intake system, is only 665mm, and even with the exhaust system, it's just 848mm. The length is also contained within 784mm, and the engine weighs 235kg.

With a compression ratio of 11.8:1, it produces a maximum output of 515kW (700ps) and a maximum torque of 690Nm (70.4kgm), achieving a top speed of 350km/h and accelerating from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds. Despite its power, it also boasts a 20 percent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the Murciélago, demonstrating environmental consideration. The transmission is a newly developed 7-speed semi-automatic called ISR (Independent Shifting Rods). This new mechanism, where a shifting rod engages the next gear before the current one is disengaged, is said to be 140 percent faster than the e-gear found in the Gallardo, achieving shifts in just 50 milliseconds.

A significant highlight is the body construction, which replaces the traditional steel frame with carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) for enhanced rigidity, safety, and a lightweight vehicle. CFRP is used for the monocoque, engine hood, rear spoiler, and side air intakes. Aluminum is employed for the front and rear frames, front fenders, and doors, while SMC, a molded FRP material, is used for the rear fenders and engine head covers.

Planned Price in Japan: ¥39.69 Million

The dimensions are 4,780mm in length, 2,260mm in width (including door mirrors), and 1,136mm in height. Despite being 170mm longer and 25mm wider than the Murciélago, the dry weight is an impressive 1,575kg. Even when converted to Japanese vehicle weight regulations, it is expected to be around 1,700kg. The doors adopt Lamborghini's traditional vertical doors, which swing upwards and forwards—a design lineage tracing back from Countach to Diablo and Murciélago—blending innovation and tradition, befitting a new Lamborghini flagship.

The suspension features a pushrod system inspired by Formula 1. The front wheels are 19 inches, and the rear wheels are 20 inches. The tires fitted are Pirelli 255/35 ZR19 – 335/30 ZR20. The brake discs are carbon-ceramic, with 400mm discs and 6-piston calipers at the front, and 380mm discs with 4-piston calipers at the rear, promising exceptional stopping power.

Inside, the instrument cluster, including the meters, has been changed from the traditional analog display to a TFT LCD digital display. A sub-display for navigation and audio controls is also equipped. The ignition button is located on the center console. Furthermore, it features a 'Drive Select Mode System' that allows switching between different characteristics for the engine, transmission, differential, steering, and dynamic controls, with three modes—'Strada,' 'Sport,' and 'Corsa'—selectable based on road conditions.

The body is available in 13 colors, with two-tone interior options. The price in Japan is expected to be ¥39.69 million, with availability potentially by the end of 2011.
