The ESFLOW is a concept car that embodies the fusion of driving pleasure and zero-emission mobility, with a sports car powered by electricity as its concept.

While featuring a low, flowing silhouette common to authentic sports cars and a compact cabin positioned near the center of gravity, it was conceived and designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle. Unlike conversions of internal combustion engine vehicles, it incorporates Nissan's advanced technologies throughout.

Specifically, by distributing the lithium-ion batteries used in the Leaf in a divided manner within the body, optimal weight distribution is achieved. The vehicle's center of rotation is near the driver's hips, enabling the stable handling characteristic of a sports car. Furthermore, two motors, also from the Leaf, are mounted mid-ship, with independent drive control for the left and right rear wheels, resulting in superior cornering and energy regeneration performance. Leveraging the high torque unique to EVs, it achieves sports car-like performance with a 0-100 km/h acceleration in under 5 seconds. The cruising range on a single charge is over 240 km, an increase of approximately 40 km compared to the Leaf.

Additionally, when adjusting the driving position, instead of moving the seat, the steering wheel and pedals are moved. This eliminates the need for seat frames, contributing to vehicle weight reduction. Nissan states that this is made possible through the use of by-wire technology.

At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, in addition to the ESFLOW, Nissan plans to exhibit a wide lineup including the concept car TOWNPOD, first unveiled at the Paris Salon last year, other zero-emission vehicles such as the European Car of the Year winning Nissan Leaf, and PURE DRIVE engine-evolved eco-cars like the Micra (March in Japan) and Qashqai (Dualis in Japan).
