Exterior That Changes Impression with Light and Viewing Angle

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Lexus unveiled the open-top concept model whose silhouette had been previously revealed, the "LF-C2LF-C2."

The unveiled LF-C2 measures 4,715mm in length, 1,840mm in width, and 1,385mm in height, making it a 2+2 seater with dimensions nearly identical to the "RC" (4,695mm length x 1,840mm width x 1,395mm height). While it has a deck at the rear, it lacks a retractable roof like a conventional convertible, making it an open-air vehicle.

The body color is a newly developed gold-yellow, applied in layers: primer, silver, clear coat, yellow, and finally a finishing coat. Combined with the body styling that skillfully utilizes panels, lines, and curves, it creates a form that seems to change its expression moment by moment depending on the light and viewing angle.

The spindle grille, symbolic of Lexus, features a vertical motif at the top, and below the bumper line, it forms a complex woven mesh pattern, also finished to present a different impression depending on the viewing angle.

The headlights incorporate the brand's signature L-shaped position lamps and triangular designs found on Lexus sports models. From the turn signals located at the edges, a character line extends along the body side to the rear deck.

The front bumper's air intakes not only promote brake cooling but also optimize aerodynamics, contributing to front stability at high speeds. Small ducts on the rear sides channel air after cooling the rear brakes into a fin-like rear diffuser. The dark chrome wheels are 20-inch, emphasizing the sporty character.

The rear end features L-shaped combination lamps, shaped like the initial letter of Lexus, and the vertically stacked dual exhaust pipes on each side are integrated into a single design connected by chrome.

In the interior, the extension of the exterior, starting from the rear deck, forms the center console and connects to the dashboard, creating a sense of unity between the interior and exterior unique to an open-top model. A large display, operated via a touchpad remote, is positioned at the top center of the dashboard. Additionally, LEDs are embedded in the trim lines to enhance the cabin's ambiance.

Although the LF-C2 is designated as a concept car, its level of completion is high, suggesting that a debut in the near future can be anticipated.
