A Declaration of War on the Large Sedan Market
At the Paris Motor Show, Infiniti held the world premiere of the "Q80 Inspiration" concept model, heralding a new flagship sedan. This model signifies Infiniti's intention to enter the premium sedan category.
The Q80 Inspiration measures 5,052mm in length, 2,027mm in width, and 1,350mm in height, placing it in the class of large sedans, similar to the Mercedes-BenzS-Class, Audi'sA8, BMW's7 Series, and Lexus'LS.
While it is a sedan, it does not adopt a conventional notchback style. Instead, it features a fastback body shape with a sloping rear reminiscent of a coupe. Its surface is a complex interplay of lines flowing from front to rear, with the distinctive C-pillar featuring Infiniti's signature cut-off, boldly expressed by a thick chrome line that appears to float, detached from the body's contours. This element also serves as an air intake for cooling the hybrid battery.
The doors are suicide-style, facilitating easy entry and exit. The interior features four individual seats. Notably, the driver's seat consolidates all necessary driving devices, with the interface streamlined into a minimalist head-up display.
A head-up display is also provided for the front passenger, which can receive information from external sources via a smartphone connected to the in-car infotainment system. For rear passengers, touch-screen displays are integrated into the front headrests, allowing them to enjoy entertainment.
The front seats are upholstered in Alcantara, while the rear seats feature quilted leather. The rest of the interior is finished with leather and metal accents. A large panoramic glass roof, allowing ample sunlight, spans the roof.

Adopts Next-Generation Hybrid Powertrain
The powertrain combines a downsized 3-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine with an electric motor, forming a hybrid system. This engine, primarily constructed from aluminum, is one of a new generation of engines that Infiniti will gradually introduce over the next two years. A 9-speed automatic transmission is employed.
The hybrid system boasts a combined maximum output of 550 hp, while achieving a fuel economy of 5.5 L/100km (approximately 18.2 km/L) and CO2 emissions of 129 g/km.
The drivetrain utilizes a smart all-wheel-drive system that automatically switches between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive depending on conditions. It can distribute torque, up to a maximum of 750 Nm, across a range from 0:100 to 50:50 front-to-rear bias, and can also be manually locked in AWD mode.
Infiniti's stance on the driver assistance systems featured in this vehicle is also clearly expressed: these functions, realized through the use of cameras, lasers, and sensors, are intended to enhance driver support rather than restrict their intentions.
Although the Q80 Inspiration is a concept car, it is being developed with a production model in mind, including its name. This reflects Infiniti's ambition to propose future design language, showcase cutting-edge technology, and challenge new segments.
