Audi's Largest Interior Space Transforms into Mobile Office, Lounge, or Personal Sanctuary

Audi has introduced the "urbansphere concept," the third model in its "sphere" series of concept cars designed to showcase future premium mobility. This vehicle aims to create an in-car experience that transcends mere transportation.
The "urbansphere concept" was born to offer a new vision for the future of cities. Notably, its development involved a "co-creation" process, with Audi's design studios in Beijing and Ingolstadt collaborating with potential customers in China for the first time, integrating their needs and experiences.
The most significant outcome of this process is an interior space that is the largest among Audi's concept cars to date. With its expansive cabin, it can function as a mobile office, a lounge, or a third living space. Furthermore, thanks to Level 4 autonomous driving technology, the interior can be reconfigured by retracting the steering wheel, pedals, and displays, allowing it to serve as a mobile interactive space.
The seats are individual units arranged in two rows, accommodating four occupants. In Relax mode or Entertainment mode, the backrests can recline up to 60 degrees, and the leg rests can be extended.
When engaging in conversation, the seats can be rotated to face each other. For moments requiring privacy, a privacy screen deployed from behind the headrest can conceal the head area.
When occupants wish to share entertainment, a large, transparent OLED screen can be deployed from the roof area between the front and rear seats, rotating into position. This "cinematic screen," spanning the full width of the interior, can be used for various scenarios, such as rear passengers participating in video conferences or watching movies together.
With dimensions of approximately 5.5 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and 1.78 meters in height, it rivals the size of luxury sedans. The suicide doors facilitate easy entry and exit. The rotating seats and a red carpet projected onto the ground transform the act of getting in and out of the car into a more comfortable and special experience.
The platform is designed for EVs, featuring a battery capacity of approximately 120 kWh, providing a driving range of up to 700 km on a full charge. Two electric motors deliver a combined output of 295 kW and a maximum torque of 690 Nm, powering all four wheels.
The "urbansphere concept" envisions travel within metropolitan areas, offering a first-class experience while respecting personal space. We look forward to seeing how this concept will influence Audi's future vehicle development.
