An SUV with the Design of the New TT

At the Beijing Motor Show, which begins on the 19th, Audi will announce a new SUV. What has been released so far are only sketches of its interior and exterior.

Its design, with its thin glass areas and rear treatment,New TTincorporates the sporty design of the new "TT" throughout, while also expressing the massiveness of an SUV with its high ride height and black bumpers. The single-frame grille is an octagon rather than the usual hexagon, perhaps in consideration of the host country that places importance on the number eight, which signifies prosperity.

This year'sDetroit Motor Show, similar to the "Allroad Shooting Brake" announced at the , features design elements resembling fuel caps on both sides, suggesting the possibility of a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Furthermore, the 4-seater interior shares a very similar design to the TT, including its distinctive round air vents.

Audi has announced plans to increase the proportion of Q models in its total sales from the current 28 percent to 35 percent by 2020. As part of this initiative, it was announced late last year that production of the "Q1" would begin in 2016.Production of "Q1" to begin in 2016.

This model is also seen as one of the variations expanding in line with that plan, and rumors suggest it could be Audi's "Q4," a more design-focused version based on the "Q3". While no information other than design has been revealed at this time, it will be officially announced soon at the Beijing Motor Show.
