Seven Next-Generation Electric Mobility Concepts to be Exhibited
Under the concept of "What is human comfort?", Honda will focus on next-generation electric mobility, including two-, three-, and four-wheeled commuters for casual enjoyment of travel, as well as mid- to long-distance commuters.
Among the four-wheeled vehicles, Honda will showcase the "AC-X," a next-generation plug-in hybrid vehicle equipped with an autonomous driving mode, and the "Micro Commuter Concept," an electric commuter that, despite its micro size, can accommodate the "MOTOR COMPO," a two-wheeled EV commuter. Additionally, the "Small Sports EV Concept (tentative name)," rumored to be the successor to the "Beat," will also be on display.
A new series of compact cars, the "N Concept," which creates spaciousness, will also be introduced, with the first production model, the "N BOX," set to be announced.
For two-wheeled vehicles, Honda will present the aforementioned "MOTOR COMPO," whose travel battery can also be used as a power source for daily life, and the "E-CANOPY," a three-wheeled scooter equipped with an EV system. The "RC-E," a 250cc class sports bike converted to EV, which offers the torque and smooth ride unique to electric vehicles, is also expected to draw attention. Production models including the "NC700S," "Integra," and "NC700X," powered by a newly developed global 700cc engine, as well as the "CRF250L," which balances everyday usability with off-road enjoyment, will also be exhibited.
At "SMART MOBILITY CITY 2011," organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association and held concurrently at the venue, Honda will also introduce initiatives aimed at reducing household CO2 emissions, such as the "Honda Smart Home System," which combines a fuel cell electric vehicle "FCX Clarity," an electric motorcycle "EV-neo," an electric cart "EV Monpal," and Honda's proprietary "Gas Engine Cogeneration Unit" and "Solar Power Generation System." Demonstrations and pilot programs will also be presented.
