Japan Launch for the Most Powerful RCZ R, Boasting 270ps

Peugeot's Most Powerful Coupe

The "RCZ R" is the most powerful model, based on Peugeot's sporty coupe "RCZ" and engineered by Peugeot Sport, the motorsport division.

Despite being front-wheel drive, the RCZ R delivers a maximum output of 270ps from its 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo engine. With 170ps per liter of displacement, it's the most powerful engine in Peugeot's production car lineup. To achieve this high output, the cylinder block features special heat treatment, and the piston heads are made from aluminum material used at the F1 level. It also incorporates advanced technologies, including a larger turbocharger.

The body dimensions are 10mm lower at 4,295mm long, 1,845mm wide, and 1,350mm high, with a weight reduction of 10kg to 1,340kg. The suspension has been tuned by Peugeot Sport. To handle the high-output engine, the brakes are upgraded to 380mm large-diameter discs with 4-piston calipers. It also features a Torsen LSD to correct rotational differences between the wheels and stabilize cornering.

The RCZ R also visually asserts its special status. A fixed, large rear spoiler is mounted on the naturally curved tail section. The twin exhausts peeking out from beneath not only enhance the aggressive appearance but also contribute to a sporty sound, creating a dynamic driving experience. Exclusive "R" badges are affixed to the front, rear, and the interior center console, making a statement both inside and out. The interior features bucket seats combining Nappa leather and Alcantara. The repeated use of red stitching, the car's theme color, creates a sporty ambiance.

In Japan, it will be available in three body colors: "Moroccan Red," "Opal White," and "Perla Nera Black." It is offered only with a 6-speed manual transmission and left-hand drive, priced at 5.4 million yen (including 8% consumption tax). Deliveries are scheduled to begin next spring for 150 units.
