A Compact Crossover and a 270ps Coupe
The "2008," unveiled as a concept car at last September's "Paris Motor Show," is a crossover that combines the driving feel of a hot hatch with the versatility of a multi-purpose vehicle, all in a compact size that's easy to handle in urban environments. It features the same small-diameter steering wheel first introduced in the "208." Equipped with a newly developed 5-speed ETG (Efficient Tronic Gearbox) with an automatic mode, it promises a new driving experience. The Japanese market launch is scheduled for Spring 2014.
Also appearing will be the "RCZ R," announced at this September's "Frankfurt Motor Show." Developed by the motorsport division, "Peugeot Sport," it features a lower ride height than the " RCZ" and専用19-inch wheels. Its new 1.6-liter engine, boasting the highest output in its class at 270ps, complies with "Euro 6 emissions standards," delivering high-level performance and fuel efficiency. This model is also slated for a Japanese market launch in Spring 2014.
Furthermore, the hot hatch "208 GTi," which achieves high performance in a compact body, will be on display. It is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, delivering a class-leading 200ps, the highest output in the 200 series' history. It also features the 208's unique small-diameter steering wheel, dedicated 208 GTi instrument dials, and a newly developed touchscreen in the center of the cockpit, which, along with the optional navigation system, allows for intuitive operation.
