Lexus will hold the world premiere of the sports coupe "RC" and the evolved version of the compact crossover SUV concept car "LF-NX Turbo," announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show, at the "Tokyo Motor Show 2013" starting Friday, November 22nd.
This RC, newly created as a sports coupe to lead Lexus's "driving" image, is likely the successor to the "SC," sales of which ended in 2010. Its sporty and dynamic side silhouette and wide, low styling befitting a sports coupe are considered to be the practical production model following the flow of theLF-CC Concept presented at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
While motifs from the "LFA" and "LF-LC" designs, such as the headlamps and the distinctive L-shaped rear combination lamps, are incorporated, the front air intakes and the characteristic rear air outlets give the entire car a racing impression.
The body dimensions are 4,695mm in length, 1,840mm in width, and 1,395mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,730mm. Two powertrain options will be available: a 3.5-liter gasoline engine and a 2.5-liter hybrid, aiming to deliver Lexus's signature emotional driving experience.
Meanwhile, the "LF-NX Turbo" is equipped with a newly developed 2.0-liter turbo engine on theLF-NX" exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With the theme of "condensed form" and "sharpness," its three-dimensional, muscular body and over fenders express the SUV's power and agile performance.
Its body dimensions are 4,640mm in length, 1,870mm in width, and 1,620mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700mm, making it slightly more compact than the currentRX. The interior features Lexus's advanced design, including the adoption of a new touchpad-type Remote Touch system.
