Two Types of Exteriors Detachable Like a Cover Case
Daihatsu approaches this Tokyo Motor Show with the theme "PLAY Tomorrow! What More Can Be Done with Kei Cars." The exhibition will showcase the fun and expanding possibilities of small cars, a field where Daihatsu excels.
Among these, the "Copen" is a concept car that allows for interchangeable exterior resin panels, designed like a cover case, enabling enjoyment of multiple designs from a single chassis. Two styles will be presented: a stylish and emotional type, and a tough & aggressive style. In addition to evolving its open-sport driving performance, it proposes new values and forms for automobiles.
Furthermore, the "FC 凸 DECK" developed as a zero-emission next-generation mobility is equipped with a platinum-free liquid fuel cell system, independently developed by Daihatsu. This model is realized within the kei car standards. Its low cost, achieved without precious metals to resolve resource issues, and its compact fuel cell that can be mounted under the floor, offer a glimpse into the new possibilities for automobiles.
In addition, Daihatsu will present the "DECA DECA," which offers excellent visibility and high space utility. A welfare vehicle based on the "Tanto," scheduled for commercial release, will also be exhibited.
Additionally, Daihatsu has produced a limited edition Mini 4WD combining the two "Copen" designs into one package, in collaboration with Tamiya. This will be presented as a gift to 3,000 randomly selected individuals who register for "Copen Mail News" and participate in a quiz rally at the Daihatsu booth during the Tokyo Motor Show. Furthermore, 2,000 additional units will be given away by lottery to those who register via the special Daihatsu website for the Tokyo Motor Show.
