A Road-Going Sports Car Capable of Circuit Driving

The "XKR-S GT" was announced to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the birth of Jaguar's high-performance "R" line. This new model is based on the company's luxury saloon "XK", but it is a more aggressive version.XKRIt has been given specifications that surpass even those of the "XKR". The theme is "a road-going sports car capable of circuit driving." It was crafted by Jaguar Land Rover's ETO department, which excels at developing special vehicles, having previously worked on models such asXKR-SandXJ UltimateXFR-Sand the "XFR-S".

The powertrain is the same supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine as the XKR-S, producing a maximum output of 550ps (405kW) at 6,000-6,500rpm and a maximum torque of 680Nm at 2,500-5,500rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, achieving 0-96km/h in 3.9 seconds (0.3 seconds faster than the XKR) and a top speed of 300km/h (electronically limited).



The exterior features dedicated aerodynamic parts, reminiscent of a circuit-only machine, including a carbon fiber front splitter, enlarged wheel arches, a rear diffuser, and a large rear wing. This generates up to 145kg of downforce.

Furthermore, the suspension system is a newly developed racing car-derived system, also used in the new modelF-TypeThe tires are Pirelli Corsa, 255/35 at the front and 305/30 at the rear, paired with 20-inch forged wheels.

The initial production run of the XKR-S GT will be limited to 30 units, delivered to the North American market. Additionally, at the New York Auto Show 2013, the new flagship four-door saloonJaguar XJRis also scheduled for a simultaneous world premiere.
