The Third 3 Series: A Fastback Style
BMW's main exhibit was the "3 Series Gran Turismo." Based on the current F30 3 Series Sedan/Touring, this is a fastback-style tourer with a 200mm longer overall length, a 110mm longer wheelbase, and an 81mm taller overall height.Current 3 SeriesThis marks the third body variation for the current 3 Series. BMW describes it as "combining the dynamics of a sedan with the practicality of a wagon." It features an active rear spoiler to reduce lift during high-speed cruising.
The engine is a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo with direct injection and Valvetronic (maximum output 306 ps, maximum torque 400 Nm), which is not offered in the Japanese specification of the current 3 Series. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is 8.1 L/100 km (approximately 12.3 km/L with the automatic). Introduction to Japan is undecided.
