This GTI Comes in Two Models

World Premiere at the Paris Motor ShowAt the time ofConcept Modelsthe 'Golf GTI' that was presented is now arriving as a production model. The GTI has been a traditional sporty grade for Volkswagen's flagship 'Golf' since its first generation. Aside from the R-Line, which is the most race-oriented specification, the GTI continues to serve as the flagship of the regular lineup.

For the 7th generation Golf, commonly known as 'Golf 7', the GTI will be offered in two variations: 'GTI' and 'GTI Performance'.

Both models are powered by a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder direct-injection turbo engine. The standard version produces a maximum output of 220 ps, while the GTI Performance boasts an additional 10 ps, reaching 230 ps. Furthermore, the front axle is equipped with a differential lock. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 6.5 seconds for the standard version and 6.4 seconds for the GTI Performance.

As expected from the latest Golf, it features a start-stop system and offers excellent environmental performance. With a 6-speed manual transmission, fuel consumption is 6.0 L/100km (16.6 km/L in Japanese notation), and CO2 emissions are kept to 139 g/km.
