The "Dodge Dart" can be considered the Dodge version of the "Giulietta," a compact sedan released by Alfa Romeo, which is under Fiat, the parent company of Chrysler. It is a C-segment model, a so-called Euro-American collaboration, that utilizes the Giulietta's platform for key hardware such as the chassis and powertrain, and incorporates Dodge's body and interior design.

The "Dart" name is a revival of the Dodge Dart that appeared in 1963. The Dart of that era was a high-performance model that is still talked about today, known for its compact body and powerful engine, and it remains popular among enthusiasts. While the first-generation Dodge Dart of the 60s featured an orthodox 3-box exterior style, the latest model revived in the 21st century adopts a hatchback body design, similar to the base Giulietta.

The "Dart GT," a high-performance version of the Dodge Dart, was additionally announced at the Detroit Show. The engine is a 2.4-liter inline-4 unit that Chrysler calls the "Tigershark MultiAir2." Employing Fiat's advanced technology, it produces a maximum output of 184ps (approx. 137.2kW) and a maximum torque of 24.0kgm (approx. 235.4Nm), while simultaneously achieving excellent fuel economy of 14.5km/ℓ in highway mode. The transmission is a 6-speed robotized manual that Chrysler calls PowerTech.

Exterior highlights for the high-performance version include 18-inch wheels, dual chrome exhaust pipes, headlights with black bezels, and a radiator grille with black accents, all clearly identifying it as a GT grade.

The interior further enhances its appeal as a top model, featuring 10-way power seats upholstered in Nappa leather and the next-generation infotainment system "Uconnect," which integrates control of audio, navigation, climate, and vehicle settings via an 8.4-inch touchscreen monitor.
