Maserati's First All-Wheel Drive Model Also Appears

The new Quattroporte, now in its sixth generation, continues the concept of a "luxury sports sedan" from the previous model. Its powerful long nose and the deeply curved grille are symbolic design elements inherited from its predecessor, and show a strong connection to Maserati's currentGranTurismomodel.

Two newly developed direct-injection twin-turbo engines are available: a 3.8-liter V8 and a 3-liter V6, both completely new designs. They are assembled at Ferrari's Maranello plant, and all models come standard with the latest 8-speed automatic transmission co-developed with ZF.

The 3.8-liter V8 engine, producing a maximum output of 390 kW (530 hp) and peak torque of 710 Nm (72.4 kgm), accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 307 km/h. This is 20 km/h faster than the current Quattroporte's top-grade model,Sport GT Sand its maximum torque is 200 Nm (20.4 kgm) higher than the previous generation Quattroporte.

Meanwhile, the 3-liter V6 engine model, with a maximum output of 306 kW (410 hp) and peak torque of 550 Nm (56.1 kgm), achieves 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 285 km/h, also boasting specifications comparable to a supercar, not a sedan.

Furthermore, the V6 engine model is notable for being the first Maserati to feature an all-wheel-drive system. In situations requiring stronger traction, it can instantly redistribute torque, which is normally sent 100% to the rear wheels, to a 50:50 front-rear split even at full speed.

The new Quattroporte's body dimensions are 5,262 mm in length, 1,948 mm in width, and 1,481 mm in height, making it approximately 150 mm longer and about 50 mm wider and taller than the previous model. However, weight reduction measures have also been implemented, resulting in a weight saving of about 100 kg for the V8 model. The suspension features double wishbones at the front and a five-link setup at the rear.

The interior further refines the Italian luxury inherited from the first model. In addition to luxurious leather upholstery crafted by hand, it is equipped with state-of-the-art information and control systems and WiFi, giving it a more modern feel.

Deliveries are scheduled for this summer. Pricing has not yet been announced.
