The Culmination of McLaren's 50th Anniversary
The McLaren 'P1' has finally revealed its form.Teaser Movie Released PreviouslyAs can be seen from the teaser movie, it boldly adopts aerodynamic technology honed on the circuit, presenting a truly racing car-like presence.
Ron Dennis, McLaren's current chairman and the mastermind behind McLaren Racing's numerous F1-GP victories, describes this car as 'the culmination of 50 years of McLaren's achievements in the worlds of racing and road cars.'
Details regarding the powertrain and specifications remain undisclosed in this release. However, according to reports from overseas automotive media, an enhanced engine based on the 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo for the MP4-12C, combined with a KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) used in F1 and other series, is said to produce a maximum output of 963 ps. Top speed is rumored to be 384 km/h, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.8 seconds. While the aforementioned information is purely speculative, McLaren has officially announced that it will surpass the 'MP4-12C in both price and performance.'MP4-12C,MP4-12C Spiderin both price and performance.'
According to Managing Director Anthony Sheriff, 'The McLaren P1 is not about seeking the world's highest top speed, but about having the power to set the fastest lap times on a circuit, while still being a comfortable road car for public roads.' He also stated, 'The ability to deliver superior performance under all conditions is the true test of performance, and that is the manifestation of high technological capability.'
The McLaren P1 aims to be 'the world's best driver's car, not just on the circuit but also on public roads.' Although this is currently a design study, the possibility of it going into production with this aesthetic is quite high. Sales are planned to begin in one year.
The 'McLaren F1,' which debuted 20 years ago in 1991, revolutionized the concept of super sports cars at the time. Can McLaren create another legend with this P1? While the judgment is left to the future, it is certain to be the center of attention at this year's Paris Motor Show.
