A Fusion of Super Sport and Grand Sport
“Veyron 16.4” was announced in 2001 at the Geneva International Motor Show as the fastest and most expensive model in history, a supercar among supercars. It was the first production car of the Bugatti brand revived by the Volkswagen Group in 1998, and simultaneously the group's flagship.
The "16.4" designation comes from its W16 engine, which is like two V8 engines combined, boosted by four turbochargers. The "Grand Sport Vitesse" announced this time, like the conventional Veyron, is powered by a 7.9-liter W16 engine mounted in the rear mid-section, driving all four wheels.
The "Grand Sport" refers to the targa top version of the "Veyron 16.4." The "Vitesse" is the highest-performance version within that line, adopting aerodynamic parts and chassis enhancements similar to the coupe model "Super Sport." The engine also boasts a maximum output of 1,200 ps / 6,400 rpm (a 199 ps increase) and a maximum torque of 1,500 Nm / 3,000-5,000 rpm (a 250 Nm increase). It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.1 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 410 km/h.
While each car is custom-made, the blue model exhibited this time is priced at 1.91 million euros, and the dark gray model at 1.75 million euros. Detailed specifications are as follows:
