A Buzz in the Hall
The Geneva Motor Show is the first motor show held in Europe each year. Thus, although it takes place in March, it serves as a social gathering for Europeans in the automotive industry to exchange greetings like "Nice to see you again this year." This is why glamorous models are said to be fitting for the Geneva Show.
Land Rover unveiled a concept car perfectly suited to that glamorous atmosphere. The moment the veil was lifted, a small murmur arose. The model's name wasRange Rover Evoque Convertible.
Currently, the 3-door and 5-door Evoque are immensely popular worldwide, with production struggling to keep pace. The reason for this is undoubtedly the design that overturned the very concept of an SUV. Some say that all car designs have been exhausted, but the Evoque was an invention: a "low and cool SUV." And the elegantly roofless Evoque Convertible takes that concept a step further.
At the press conference, Design Director Gerry McGovern explained his challenge: "The beauty of the Evoque is well-suited to the convertible style."
Land Rover states that a production version of the Evoque Convertible is undecided. However, they also announced that they "want to gauge the reaction to this concept model." As car enthusiasts, open-top lovers, and fans of interesting things, we can't help but cheer it on.
