The John Cooper Works version of the MINI Crossover, the "MINI John Cooper Works Crossover," is finally set to arrive. This marks the first time the "All 4" all-wheel-drive system has been combined with John Cooper Works. It will have its world premiere at the 82nd Geneva International Motor Show.
The engine is a newly developed, direct-injection 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder twin-scroll twin-turbo unit. It produces a maximum output of 160 kW and a peak torque of 280 Nm. Furthermore, torque can be increased to 300 Nm with the overboost function. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7 seconds, with a top speed of 225 km/h.
The exterior features an aerodynamic kit, lowered suspension, and 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels as standard. The interior is equipped with sports seats, a sports steering wheel, and trim in either Piano Black or Chili Red.
While the top speed is slightly reduced to 223 km/h, the availability of a 6-speed automatic gearbox as an option is also a first for a John Cooper Works model. The 6-speed manual transmission achieves fuel economy of 7.2 L/100 km and CO2 emissions of 167 g/km. With the optional automatic transmission, these figures are 8.0 L/100 km and 187 g/km, respectively.
Three Special Edition Models Also Exhibited
Another world premiere will bethe "Clubman Concept." Based on the Clubman, this model has been converted to a two-seater to maximize cargo space.
Additionally, three special edition models will be displayed at the show. The "Bayswater" model, named for its youthful style, emphasizes brisk handling and vibrant sportiness. The "Highgate Convertible" reinterprets British style for the modern era, highlighting a sense of luxury.
