A Model Anticipated Despite Uncertain Release Date
The convertible Evoque announced this time is based on the three-door model, commonly known as a coupe. The roof is a soft top and, naturally, retractable. It stows away without compromising the Evoque's distinctive character line that sweeps upwards towards the rear. Furthermore, the car will be exhibited at the show fitted with 21-inch alloy wheels painted in a special color.
Along with the open-top design, the soft top is equipped with a "rollover protection system" to protect occupants in the unlikely event of a rollover. Importantly, rigidity is maintained while minimizing any increase in weight. The interior and equipment conform to the standard Evoque.
This is being exhibited as a concept model, and whether it will be released for sale remains undecided at this time. Range Rover stated that the exhibition aims to "explore the potential of the world's first premium convertible SUV," and future developments will depend on the reaction at the show.
