Gasoline Engine Model Joins M Performance Series
M Performance Series World Premierehas been revealed to join the M Performance series.
This will be a three-door model, not yet announced for the current F20 1 Series, and BMW describes its appearance as youthful and sporty. The sill line, horizontal to the road, and the character line rising towards the rear emphasize the car's long and low impression. The rear features two dark chrome exhaust pipes.
As a member of the M Performance series, which balances everyday usability with high performance, its key feature is a rear-wheel-drive configuration powered by an M-tuned six-cylinder twin-turbo gasoline engine producing over 300 horsepower. To ensure adequate cooling for the powerful engine, the front apron features large air intakes, similar to M series models, and the brakes have also been upgraded. The blue brake calipers appear to be consistent with other M Performance models. The wheels are 18-inch lightweight alloy double-spoke units.
With the M135i, BMW aims to occupy a unique position in the compact gasoline engine segment, much like it has with its diesel engine M Performance series models.
