Plug-in Hybrid Model to be Introduced Within the Year

The new "Outlander" will be powered by either a newly developed 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine with variable valve timing, or a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged clean diesel engine that complies with Europe's stringent emissions regulations and achieves a low compression ratio of 14.9. The vehicle also features an idling stop function. With a 6-speed manual transmission and 2WD, the clean diesel model emits less than 130g/km of CO2, achieving top-class fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions in its segment.

In terms of safety, it is equipped with advanced technologies such as a "Forward Collision Mitigation Brake System" that detects obstacles ahead and helps prevent collisions through automatic braking, a "Radar Cruise Control System" capable of maintaining distance from the vehicle ahead not only at high speeds but also at very low speeds, such as in traffic jams, and a "Lane Departure Warning System" that alerts the driver with a warning sound if the vehicle is about to deviate from its lane.

The interior features second and third-row seats that can be easily arranged to create a flat cargo space. Furthermore, a power tailgate, convenient for loading and unloading luggage, is also adopted, providing the equipment befitting a global strategic vehicle.

In addition to the new Outlander, Mitsubishi Motors will exhibit a total of 13 vehicles at the Geneva Motor Show, including the "MiEV House," which proposes a lifestyle with electric vehicles, and the "ASX" (Japanese market name: RVR), "Pajero," and "Lancer Evolution X," which are selling well in Europe.
