GM Introduces Compact Luxury Sedan for Cadillac!
General Motors (GM) has unveiled the new "ATS" from its premium brand, Cadillac. It challenges the compact luxury sedan segment, where German cars like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4 have shown overwhelming strength.

A Newly Engineered Car to Challenge German Rivals
The completely newly designed "Cadillac ATS" is a rear-wheel-drive vehicle weighing 1,542 kg with an excellent weight balance of nearly 50:50. It is equipped with Cadillac's first five-link independent suspension at the rear and MacPherson strut suspension at the front, and has undergone rigorous refinement at circuits and research facilities worldwide, including the Nürburgring.
Three engine options are available. In addition to the base model's 2.5-liter inline-4 engine, customers can opt for a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a maximum output of 320 hp or a newly developed 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with a maximum output of 270 hp.
Packed with Advanced Technology to Appeal to Younger Drivers
The interior, featuring leather seats with wood trim and metal accents, is equipped with the "CUE (Cadillac User Experience)" system, also found in the top-tier "XTS." This system centrally controls infotainment and navigation, linking with up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices. It offers operation via a large icon touch panel as well as voice commands.
GM aims to attract a younger demographic by combining these advanced technologies and Cadillac's signature aggressive design. The market launch is scheduled for the latter half of 2012.
