Audi Unveils Q3-Based SUV "Vail"
At the 2012 North American International Auto Show, which opened on January 9, 2012, Audi unveiled the compact SUV "Q3 Vail," named after the renowned ski resort in Colorado.

Targeting Winter Sports Enthusiasts
The "Q3 Vail" was born as a compact SUV targeting young winter sports enthusiasts, emphasizing a sporty and rugged image. The body color, "Energy Red," is a special pearlescent red with a golden hue, exclusive to the Q3 Vail. This is complemented by matte gray quartz-based paint on special additional parts, and glossy aluminum and black paint around the windows, creating a sharp impression. The front of the roof rails, integrated with the roof, is equipped with wide-angle LED lights. The wheels are 8.5J x 20 inches with 5-arm design, the tread is 40mm wider than the standard model, and the overall height is 30mm higher.
Equipped with Useful Features for Winter Sports
The interior is predominantly black, with red accents on the stitching, piping, and leather sections.
For winter sports, a heater is integrated beneath the trunk mat to warm ski boots. The trunk also houses two flashlights that recharge their batteries when stored. Additionally, a thermos bottle holder is mounted on the center console next to the driver's seat, which can warm or cool drinks using power from the vehicle.
The engine is a 2.5-liter, 5-cylinder direct-injection TFSI engine, producing a maximum output of 314 hp (231 kW) and a peak torque of 400 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 262 km/h.
Furthermore, according to Audi, the electric vehicle concept,Audi A2is scheduled for release in the US market in 2015.
