For Those Who Know the Joy of Weekend Circuit Runs ── Test Drive of the Ferrari F8 Tributo | Ferrari
A Thrill That Makes You Say, "Only Ferrari"
Although my memory of driving at Fiorano had faded somewhat, driving on the winding roads of Hakone this time reaffirmed the sheer enjoyment this car offers. The car's response to steering inputs, with its slightly heavier setting, is incredibly quick, allowing it to navigate corners of any radius at impressively high speeds.
The deceleration felt when applying the brake pedal is natural, befitting a supercar, providing a direct response as if you are directly controlling the car's braking. As experienced sports car drivers know, the feel of the brakes is a defining characteristic of a well-made car.
The engine produces a maximum torque of 770Nm at 3,250rpm. This means that even at lower engine speeds, including in city driving, the car feels powerful. Due to fuel efficiency considerations, the gear shifts are quick in normal driving modes, with the engine speed rarely exceeding 2,000rpm.
The acceleration when needed is superb, reaching legal speeds in what feels like an instant. The ride comfort is surprisingly good, and the cabin noise is low, making the sense of speed on public roads feel subdued. You could easily lose your driving license.
Despite its speed, there's no feeling of being overwhelmed by the car, allowing for confident acceleration. However, the continuous increase in speed is astonishing, with no clear point where it stops accelerating. That exhilarating sensation is truly worthy of Ferrari.
While front-engined Ferraris offer high satisfaction in terms of comfort, the F8 Tributo is a model built for the pure enjoyment of driving. This distinction in design reflects Ferrari's history of developing cars for a diverse market. The price of the F8 Tributo is 33.28 million yen. While it's excellent for city driving, it's truly for those who know the joy of weekend circuit runs.
