Test drive the Ferrari Purosangue in Northern Italy—an all-round supercar combining comfort and versatility | Ferrari

Makes You Want to Actively Enjoy the Audio

The test drive route was approximately 220 km, forming a loop clockwise from the hotel base. Except for a small section of autostrada and urban areas, it consisted mostly of country roads and steep winding mountain passes, including the legendary "Trento-Bondone Hill Climb" course.

This test drive route itself reflects Ferrari's assertion that the Purosangue is, after all, a sports car.
Upon setting off, the first impressions are of its high level of quietness and its refined, smooth ride. For example, in the GTC4Lusso, its predecessor, the V12 unit, positioned directly in front of the driver, seemed to announce its presence from the moment it was started, transmitting a low, rumbling sound into the cabin.

In contrast, the Purosangue is so quiet in situations like stop-and-go traffic in the city that you can almost forget the V12 is there.
The test car was equipped with winter tires, but road noise was also kept to a minimum, making the overall ride as comfortable as a luxury sedan.

The Purosangue comes standard with a 3D high-end surround sound system from the German high-end audio brand Burmester. Given the level of quietness achieved, this system is far from being underutilized.
Indeed, the sound quality of this system, with its 1,420 watts of total output and 21 speakers, is exceptional, delivering a perfectly balanced sound with deep bass and clear treble, regardless of the music genre.
It makes one wonder, has there ever been a Ferrari before that makes you want to actively enjoy its audio system? In that respect too, the Purosangue feels like a slightly different kind of Ferrari.

The powertrain is exclusively the newly developed 6,496cc V12 engine. This engine, an evolution of the V12 found in the "Enzo Ferrari," boasts an output of 725ps at 7,750rpm and 716Nm of torque at 6,250rpm, while also offering flexibility with 80% of its maximum torque available from 2,100rpm.
According to Raoul Dautry, the V12 powertrain project leader, the engine department's goal was to create an engine that delivers maximum torque across the widest possible range of RPMs. Indeed, its strong torque characteristics even at low RPMs are impressive.
In situations like cruising through the city in AT mode, the newly developed 8-speed DCT smoothly shifts through the gears, reaching 6th gear at speeds as low as 40 km/h in some cases.

Despite its immense performance figures of 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h, this over-700ps high-power unit is surprisingly easy to handle. At city speeds, it offers a truly comfortable and effortless driving experience.
