Experience the pure joy of driving a sports hatchback – Test drive the new Audi S3 Sportback | Audi
Interior design that inspires confidence and joy
The tires are 225/40 size, paired with 18-inch diameter wheels. Although the aspect ratio is relatively low, it doesn't negatively impact ride comfort. It gives you confidence that the tires will grip the road firmly at higher speeds.
As is typical with Audi, the interior features high-quality synthetic resin components, with subtle "twists" in the details. The design is intended to provide both a sense of security and joy to daily drivers.
The dedicated bucket seats combine non-slip artificial suede for the contact surfaces with durable leather for the surrounding areas. Heating, memory functions, and electric adjustment are also standard on the S3.
For the first time, the A3 series is equipped with two LCD monitors. One is the instrument cluster, which Audi calls the "Virtual Cockpit." The other is the infotainment monitor. On the S3, this monitor is slightly larger than on the A3.
This time, you can operate the "multicolor ambient lighting," which offers 30 colors, via this monitor screen. Some may not find it necessary, but I like it because it changes the interior atmosphere.
The ample rear seat space is also a testament to clever packaging. The 2,630mm wheelbase is well utilized, creating a comfortable space with ample headroom and legroom for rear passengers.
The S3 also comes standard with "Adaptive Cruise Assist," which integrates the conventional adaptive cruise control, active lane assist, and traffic jam assist. Additionally, it includes a rearview camera and rear traffic assist, among other features.
The price is 6,420,000 yen. The "1st Edition" featured here, equipped with 19-inch wheels, sports seats, a black styling package, and black exterior mirrors, is priced at 7,110,000 yen. The sedan was also released simultaneously and is priced at 6,610,000 yen.
