Two Distinct Grades Introduced for the First Time
Japan's premier luxury SUV has undergone a full model change. This is the Lexus LX. The model name has changed from the previous LX570 to LX600, with the number increasing. The reason given is that it produces power and torque equivalent to a 6-liter naturally aspirated engine. This corresponds to 415ps and 650Nm. In reality, it's impressive that it has downsized from a 5.7-liter V8 to a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo. This downsizing of the power source directly translates to improved fuel efficiency and weight reduction.

So, why was the model change carried out at this particular time? The reason is simple: it follows the evolution of the Toyota Land Cruiser, with which it shares its basic components. This is because the Land Cruiser transitioned from the 200 series to the 300 series. Furthermore, the Lexus LX is recognized, not only in Japan but also globally, as the luxury version of the Land Cruiser.
Does this mean it's just a Land Cruiser with luxurious equipment, a different face, and a swapped badge? Not at all. To achieve the "refined driving" that Lexus has been pursuing in recent years, original innovations have been incorporated in various areas.

For example, the target vehicle weight is one such area. Development was carried out with the goal of a 200kg reduction compared to the LX570. This target was achieved by reviewing the welding method of the ladder frame and using aluminum for most of the body parts. Another example is the damping force control method of the dampers, commonly known as "gas springs." This method, not found in the Land Cruiser, produces a comfortable ride quality characteristic of Lexus.
The provision of two unique grades can also be considered a distinct Lexus concept. The "OFFROAD" grade, compared to the standard model, is akin to the "GR Sport" in the Land Cruiser lineup. However, the "EXECUTIVE" is truly one-of-a-kind. This embodies the essence of "Japan's premier luxury SUV" mentioned at the beginning.

This is best described by the fact that it is a "four-seater." With such a large body, the space is utilized luxuriously for two people in the front and two in the rear. Other grades offer seating for five with a three-person rear bench, or seven with three rows of seats.
