Audi Reveals Specs for A3 Sportback e-tron
The Geneva Motor Show 2013, opening in MarchAudi has announced the specifications for the "A3 Sportback e-tron," which will be exhibited at the event.

A Plug-in Hybrid Based on the A3 Sportback

Audi, which has successively unveiled vehicles like these, is one of the most proactive manufacturers in electrifying powertrains. Audi has now announced the specifications for the "A3 Sportback e-tron," which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2013 in March. As this model was rumored to go on sale within 2014 from the outset, it is expected that the production version will have similar specifications.
Details regarding the hybrid control system and mechanisms of the "A3 Sportback e-tron" have not yet been disclosed, so we await further information. The base model is theThe "A3"'s five-door model,The "A3 Sportback", and it is known to employ a plug-in hybrid system with a charging port on the front.
The powertrain combines a 1.4-liter TFSI engine producing 110 kW (150 PS) with a 75 kW (102 PS) electric motor, for a total system output of 150 kW (204 PS). Mated to a 6-speed transmission called "S tronic," it achieves 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 222 km/h, offering sporty performance befitting an Audi. Meanwhile, it records fuel consumption of 1.5 L/100 km and CO2 emissions of 35 g/km, demonstrating excellent environmental performance.
Naturally, it is also possible to drive solely on the electric motor. In this mode, the top speed is 130 km/h, and the driving range is approximately 50 km.
