2ZR-FE Engine + Supercharger!

Lotus has begun sales in Japan of the "Lotus Elise S" equipped with the new engine.
Positioned as a higher-spec model than the already available "Elise" and "Elise CR," it is the successor to the previous "Elise SC" model.

The previous "Elise SC" used a supercharger combined with Toyota's 2ZZ-GE 1.8-liter inline-4 engine. The new "Elise S" features an updated base engine, the 2ZR-FE, also a 1.8-liter inline-4, which is more environmentally friendly, paired with an Eaton supercharger.

While the maximum output remains unchanged at 220ps, the maximum torque has increased by 40Nm to 250Nm. Despite improved performance, the switch to the 2ZR-FE base engine has enhanced fuel efficiency from the previous 8.5ℓ/100km to 7.5ℓ/100km. CO2 emissions have also been reduced from 199g/km to 175g/km.

Additionally, a sport mode button located in front of the shift knob allows the driver to further unleash the Elise S's performance through DPM (Dynamic Performance Management).
