81st Geneva Motor Show

81st International Motor Show, Palexpo-Geneva

A Fruitful Geneva in 2011

The Geneva Motor Show, one of the world's top five auto shows, has opened.

The cars gathered from around the world offer a truly diverse and rich lineup. While many models are designed for commercial production with a focus on customer needs and societal demands, unique concept models offering innovative proposals are few. However, the "Lamborghini Aventador," for which teaser images have been released multiple times since late last year, and the Ferrari FF, Ferrari's first four-wheel-drive model, which just had its premiere press conference, are generating significant buzz.

Compared to recent motor shows, there's a clear surge in environmentally conscious vehicles. Rolls-Royce has unveiled the "102EX," an EV based on the Phantom, at the show.

On the other hand, models focused on driving performance, such as Aston Martin's revival of the "Virage" name and Jaguar's "XKR-S" boasting a maximum output of 550ps, also catch the eye. Here, we present 27 models that OPENERS is particularly interested in.

As the demand for alternative powertrains like electric and hybrid vehicles expands and the environment and values surrounding automobiles undergo significant change, it is compelling to observe the unique directions each brand is pursuing.
