A Special Limited Edition with a Brilliant Black Body
Mercedes-Benz has launched the "SL 350 Night Edition," a special edition model based on the SL 350, the brand's top-class roadster. This model features a striking contrast of black and chrome/silver in its interior and exterior, and went on sale on April 19, 2010.
A Special Limited Edition Cloaked in the Darkness of Night
The sporty and dynamic AMG Styling Package is complemented by a choice of Obsidian Black or the special designo Magno Night Black (matte paint) body colors. It also features exclusive 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels in Titanium Grey (two-tone), high-gloss door handles, and chrome shoulder line trim, significantly enhancing its sharp exterior presence.
The interior, crafted with exquisite Nappa leather throughout, boasts distinctive seats and interior trim with arrow-shaped stitching and silver accents. Furthermore, details such as silver-painted Airscarf, chrome-finished door sill plates, and draft stops emphasize the contrast between black and silver, further intensifying its sharp design.

One of the 11 units planned for sale features the matte black "designo Magno Night Black" paint, developed exclusively for this special edition. Its unique presence and atmosphere are enhanced by the absence of reflections from the surrounding scenery.
Due to the single unit of the designo Magno Night Black specification being available in Japan, a lottery will be held if there are many interested buyers. Applications must be submitted to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership nationwide by Saturday, May 10th.
While equipped with the AMG Sports Package, valued at approximately 945,000 yen, and numerous exclusive features, the price is 12.8 million yen, 800,000 yen higher than the base model. However, for the designo Magno Night Black exterior color, the price is 13.3 million yen, 1.3 million yen higher. The engine is a V6 DOHC.

BRAND HISTORY
When tracing the history of automobiles, the pioneers we arrive at are two Germans: Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz. It goes without saying that these two men independently created gasoline-powered automobiles between 1885 and 1886, laying the foundation for the automotive society. The automobile companies they founded were at times seen as rivals, but to overcome the recession after World War I, they joined forces, and Daimler-Benz AG was established through their merger in 1926.
The name "Mercedes," given to the products, originated when Emil Jellinek, a customer of Daimler's, named the cars after his eldest daughter in exchange for undertaking sales outside of Germany. The trademark was registered by Daimler-Benz AG in 1902.
Thus born, Mercedes, and subsequently Mercedes-Benz, has continued to lead the way in automotive development, actively introducing the latest technologies such as the safety passenger cell, airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and Night View.
