Special Event Held to Commemorate the Start of BMW i8 Deliveries
The "i8," a plug-in hybrid sports car, the second model in the "i" brand following the BMW's first electric car, the "i3," has finally begun delivery in Japan. A special party to commemorate this was held on September 17th at the "BMW Group Studio" in Marunouchi, Tokyo.

A Luxurious Night Celebrating the BMW i8 with Talk Shows and DJ Live Sets
With a top speed of 250 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration in under 4.5 seconds, the "BMW i8" boasts specifications befitting a pure sports car. As a plug-in hybrid sports car combining a turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor, it is one of the most talked-about new cars today.
The commemorative party, held on September 17th at the "BMW Group Studio" showroom in Marunouchi, Tokyo, began with a greeting from Mr. Peter Kronschnabl, President of BMW Japan.
Simultaneously with the unveiling of the i8, DJ Takahashi☆ of m-flow livened up the venue with a DJ set, and a talk show was held featuring Mr. Masafumi Suzuki, Editor-in-Chief of "GQ Japan," and designer Mr. Tokujin Yoshioka.
The party was attended by prominent figures representing various fields, including Mr. Genichiro Berton Shinrai (Architect), Mr. Rui Ri Terai (Artist), Mr. Gardar Einarsson (Artist), Mr. Steve Nakamura (Art Director), Ms. Kako Gondo (Representative of SONOKO), and Ms. Nanae Ubugata (Model). It was truly a luxurious night that underscored the high level of attention surrounding the BMW i8.
