Fulfilling your heart with the things and experiences you love, and living authentically. | BEAUTY

The most important thing is to listen to your heart and find what excites you.

Hello everyone! I'm Ema Tanioku. Today, I want to talk about how to get along well with your own heart.

To get straight to the point, do you usually get along well with your heart? It's said that people have about 60,000 thoughts a day. This means we live our waking hours thinking about something, about once every second.
For example, imagine going out for a meal with friends. Everyone orders omurice, but even though you secretly want spaghetti, you end up ordering omurice to fit in. You have a desire to do something, but you suppress it and go along with the group.
When living in society, things don't always go our way, and there may be times when we have to hold back.
However, if you continue to ignore your true feelings, you'll find yourself increasingly pondering, 'What is my own will?' There was a time when I constantly went along with others, to the point where I didn't even know what I liked or disliked, and my self-esteem plummeted.
I realized that couldn't be the way, so I gradually started to find things I enjoyed!
The key to finding them is, quite simply, that feeling of excitement in your heart!!!
You might think, 'Is that all?', but it's surprisingly easy to overlook!
Before that, we suppress our true feelings with reasons like, 'I'm too old now,' or 'People might look down on me.' When your inner sensor is activated but you ignore it, you're essentially leaving yourself behind. No matter how small it is, please find that sensor that makes your heart feel excited.
This brings me to a time when my own heart's sensor was activated. While I work as a model, I'm also involved in various activities, including launching a skincare line.
In my private life, I attend tea ceremony classes and do many things that make my heart feel excited.
In addition to learning graceful movements, tea ceremony also feels like it calms the mind. You concentrate on the present moment, engaging your five senses as time flows by. I always leave my tea ceremony lessons feeling excited and happy.
Another recent source of excitement for me is UNICEF! I've actually been interested in UNICEF since I was a child, collecting and donating used pencils and studying by reading books about Mother Teresa.
I wasn't particularly good at academics, but I had a personality that pursued things I loved with all my might. When I learned there was a UNICEF House in Tokyo, I immediately visited on my day off! That's when my heart's sensor started to activate. This is it!! This is what I've wanted to do all along! I realized.
I still have much to learn about UNICEF, but a desire to contribute in some way is bubbling up within me.
You don't need a reason to feel excited, so trust yourself, try anything, and let's find that excitement together!
