Mastering AOUD, the "Diamond of Fragrances"
The perfumer at MONTALE, who for many years served as the exclusive perfumer for royalty and nobility in Arab countries, crafting original scents for them, keeps their identity private.
AOUD, meaning precious "fragrant wood" or "agarwood" in ancient Arab kingdoms, exclusively for royal use, is referred to as the "diamond of fragrances." The method of extracting oil from this fragrant wood remains a closely guarded secret, shrouded in mystery.
Furthermore, AOUD is also known as the "king's treasure," its value increasing with age, much like fine wine.

Upon returning to France, Montale's perfumer established the brand MONTALE in 2002, utilizing a unique expertise and know-how in "fragrant wood oil perfumery." This marked the first fragrance brand in France to be based on AOUD, opening its first store in Place Vendôme.
Montale's fragrances are characterized by their luxurious use of precious fragrant woods gathered from around the world, including frankincense, balsam, amber, and cedarwood.
Currently, 17 Eau de Parfum scents, tailored to Japanese preferences and lifestyles, are available. All fragrances are unisex. From ¥9,450 for 50ml.
Additionally, five original Eau de Parfum scents, conceived by Montale's perfumer with Japanese women in mind, are exclusive limited editions available only at the select shop "Colette" in Japan and France.
Available at Estnation stores, Cassina IXC. PRIVATE Shibuya, Strassburgo Omotesando, and more.
