Cameron Highlands Resort: A Taste of Britain in Malaysia

The Allure of Malaysia's Cameron Highlands Resort, Visited by Kiho Watanabe

Located approximately 250 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur and 320 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the "Cameron Highlands Resort" stands with quiet dignity on the plateau developed in 1885 by the British William Cameron. Kiho Watanabe, representative of uka, visited this resort.

A Picnic Tour for Exquisite Tea

A plateau so remote, it takes three and a half hours by car from Kuala Lumpur to reach, making one marvel at those who discover it. The air, the scenery, the very atmosphere here feels mysterious. Speaking of mystery, this is a peculiar place imbued with an air of elegance and enigma, where the villa of silk magnate Jim Thompson once stood before his sudden disappearance.

This highland is famous for its breathtaking views of the "BOH TEA" tea plantations stretching out below, and for the picnic tours offered by the Cameron Highlands Resort. A picnic amidst the tea fields was a truly delightful experience.

BOH TEA is renowned for its smooth, mellow flavor, cultivated at an altitude of approximately 1,500 meters, blessed with ample rainfall and sunshine. Its taste offers a refined character with a deep, satisfying finish. Here, a dedicated butler served with the most radiant smile, offering parasols and making one feel like a distinguished lady of British aristocracy.

Surrounded by verdant plantations stretching 360 degrees, under a clear blue sky with pristine air. This is truly a treatment for the soul. The picnic lunch, which felt like a cleansing of the spirit, is an experience not to be missed!

Spa Therapists: Charming and Strong Women

The spa I visited this time is the "Spa Village" at the Cameron Highlands Resort Hotel. The menu features treatments using herbs, roses, and tea harvested in the Cameron Highlands. Most intriguingly, given the region's abundant strawberry cultivation... you can receive treatments that incorporate strawberries.

After changing, a "Mint Tea Bath" awaits, a bathtub filled with fresh mint. The bath, infused with mint leaves and mint tea, is said to be highly effective in boosting immunity and improving circulation. As I tend to experience swelling, I opted for a mint treatment.

I soaked in the bathtub up to my shoulders, allowing my body to warm and relax. For 20 minutes, I gently warmed in the subtle, refreshing scent of mint, with a cool tea-leaf eye mask and a glass of chilled tea.

Incredible perspiration! I felt refreshed after leaving the bath. Even during the relaxation period, a hot pack was placed on my chest. Warming the body is indeed key.

The Mystical Cameron Highlands Resort

The treatment room was spacious and beautifully appointed. My skin felt smooth, supple, and wonderfully soft after the mint scrub and oil treatment.

The "Spa Village" at Cameron Highlands Resort offered a serene experience, allowing me to fully appreciate the beauty benefits of tea. The hotel itself, with its colonial architecture, exudes a sense of grandeur yet maintains a clean, calm, and inviting atmosphere.

The attentive care from the hotel staff made the afternoon high tea truly special. I highly recommend visiting the mystical Cameron Highlands Resort.
