Beauty Secrets Revealed (2): Hydration and Tightening with "Lotion Packs"
With the weather swinging between hot and cold, this season often brings unstable skin. Especially on days with significant temperature differences between morning and evening, skin loses moisture rapidly, leading to a sudden increase in dryness. If left untreated, this can cause troubles due to dryness, so to prevent that,"lotion packs"are a necessary care step to replenish ample moisture.

Boost Absorption with "Spoon Patting"
First, soak a large cotton pad with lotion. The key is to saturate it thoroughly, ensuring not just the center but also the corners are completely drenched. Next, apply it to your skin. If it's too thick, it will be too heavy and fall off, so thin it out, tear it into pieces, and gently press them onto your skin.

Apply lotion-soaked cotton pads and gently pat with a spoon.
Up to this point, it's likely the lotion pack method you'd expect, but my original technique adds one more step. That's "spoon patting" (spoon patting is explained in detail in issues 13-16).
Specifically, while the cotton pads are still on your face, hold a spoon chilled with ice and gently tap your skin with its curved side.
This, combined with the cold stimulus and the tapping action, helps the lotion soaked in the cotton pads penetrate deeper into the skin.
Furthermore, the cold sensation helps to tighten pores.
When pores are tightened after ample moisture has been absorbed, your skin becomes hydrated and plump.
Lotion Packs Are Recommended for Morning Care!
While adding "lotion packs" to your evening routine is beneficial, they are also recommended for morning care. Mornings can feel rushed, but in reality, there's quite a bit of time spent wandering around after washing your face, thinking about breakfast, clothes, and so on. That's why, as soon as I finish washing my face, I apply lotion-soaked cotton pads to my skin. Then, while patting with a spoon, I move around doing various things. By the time I'm mostly ready, my skin is plump! Its refined texture improves makeup application and longevity, allowing for a pleasant start to the day.
You Can Tell If Lips Are Dry and Skin Moisture Levels with Your Hands

Check the coolness of your cheekbones with the back of your hand.
You can tell if your skin is dry by looking at your lips. If they are chapped and peeling, it's safe to assume your skin is already dehydrated.
Therefore, when you feel the need for lip balm, it's time to switch to a more moisturizing skincare routine, such as using a richer cream on your face or ensuring thorough hydration.
Also, when told to "hydrate when you feel dry," it can be difficult to know how much is enough, as each person's natural skin moisture level varies.
However, there's a simple way to find out.
Use your own "hands."
After applying lotion, touch the area around your cheekbones with the back of your hand.
If it feels cool, your moisture levels are nearly full.
