Its fragrances are said to have inspired musicians of the era, such as Britain's Harry Revel and America's Dr. Samuel Hoffman.

Revived in 2006 by young French entrepreneurs, the brand launched “Les 7 Parfums Capitaux” (The 7 Essential Scents) in 2007, expressing the seven major fragrance families as seven distinct scents.
