A mechanical watch with a Platinum 950 case, a collaboration between Citizen and Ginza Tanaka, has been released. It is a limited edition of 16 pieces.

Inspired by the "Type 16 Pocket Watch" Born in 1924
Citizen and Ginza Tanaka each have over 100 years of history, and both companies developed from the same founder. This fact led to the release of a collaborative model between the two companies this year.
"Type 16 Pocket Watch" (Reference product)
The motif is the first watch, the "Type 16 Pocket Watch," released under the name "CITIZEN" in 1924 by Shokosha Watch Laboratory, the predecessor of Citizen. The case material, made by Ginza Tanaka, is Platinum 950, a stable metal resistant to discoloration and degradation.
While standard Platinum 950 is 95% platinum alloyed with palladium and other metals, this case uses a special blend of 95% platinum and 5% gold. This achieves high strength comparable to stainless steel.
The movement is a Citizen-made mechanical (automatic winding) movement. The rotor, visible through the see-through case back, is engraved with the "☆S" mark, a quality assurance hallmark that has continued since Ginza Tanaka's founding and was also engraved on Citizen's first watch, the "Type 16 Pocket Watch." The case back is also engraved with the serial number.
Additionally, a special presentation box and a custom mini-booklet detailing the respective histories of Citizen and Ginza Tanaka are included.
